My Postcard World

The mixture of very old and new buildings is very interesting.

The rotunda is one of the most remarkable spaces in the Statehouse. The rotunda stretches 120 feet from the floor to the skylight, and its crown jewel is the dome's 29-foot-wide skylight.

Cracow - Florian's Gate

 ...beautiful city Cracow, former capital of Poland. There are very many monuments. The old town with medieval devender walls are on the UNESCO's WHS list.

Paton Bridge

 Paton Bridge named after its construction. It was 1st all-welded bridge, it is the longest bridge in Kiev.

It's from Brno town. On the top of postcard is the innercourt of the new townhall by night. The bottom is a pallace (Renaissance) and has been registered in cultural sight of the Czech Republic.

Sydney's famous Opera House

 "It is a multi-venue performing arts centre which was designed and largely built by Danish architect, Jorn Utzon, whose design won a world wide competition. Sidney Opera House was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. The four key resident companies are Opera Australia, The Australian Ballet, The Sydney Theatre Company, and The Sydney Symphony. But many other performers appear there during more than 1500 performances each year, more than 1 million people visit each year. SOH is made with precast concrete sections at a sphere and is covered with 1,056,006 glossy white tiles. The Opera House was built between 1959-1973."

Monticello, a welcome retreat

The center of Thomas Jefferson's private world was Monticello, the house and 5,000-acre plantation which occupied his attention for more than fifty years. Monticello was Jefferson's retreat from the hated occupations of politics that drew him away from his family, his farm, and his books.
