 "It is a multi-venue performing arts centre which was designed and largely built by Danish architect, Jorn Utzon, whose design won a world wide competition. Sidney Opera House was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. The four key resident companies are Opera Australia, The Australian Ballet, The Sydney Theatre Company, and The Sydney Symphony. But many other performers appear there during more than 1500 performances each year, more than 1 million people visit each year. SOH is made with precast concrete sections at a sphere and is covered with 1,056,006 glossy white tiles. The Opera House was built between 1959-1973."
